2021 Player Registration (K-8th Grade)

Welcome to Sherwood Junior Baseball! We are SO excited to open registration for the 2021 season!!

PLEASE NOTE: We rely on parent volunteers to coach our teams. If we do not get enough volunteers to coach, we may not be able to field teams for every player. Please consider volunteering!

League level eligibility will be determined by player's current grade in school. Sometimes the system offers multiple levels of play for a single player. This is due to the participant's date of birth, which is how the system determines player eligibility. Please register your player for the appropriate league, based on his current grade in school.

Seniors: 7th & 8th grade
Juniors: 5th & 6th grade
Minors: 3rd & 4th grade

Futures: 2nd & 3rd grade
This is a recreational/development league that's more like "real" baseball. It's a great entry-level spot for older kids who aren't ready for a competitive league or younger players just picking up a bat for the first time.

Rookies: 1st & 2nd grade
This is an entry level league and perfect for a player transitioning from t-ball or just starting out in baseball for the first time.

T-ball: Made up of mostly kindergarteners, with some 1st graders, depending on age, development level, and baseball ability.

REFUNDS: For the 2021 season, we are NOT requiring payment to register for evals/tryouts. Fees will be required when your player is notified of his team. This is a change made for this year only and has been implemented in order to reduce risk to families and to (hopefully) eliminate the need for a lengthy refund process IF we have to cancel plans for the season due to COVID. In the event that the season is cancelled after registration is paid, if we have already ordered uniforms and that order cannot be rescinded, the player will receive his uniform and the refund will be less the cost of the uniform.

COVID Policy: We sincerely hope we will be able to play a season of baseball. There will be protocols in place, and everyone who registers to play will be expected to follow them. Refusal to follow the established protocols will result in removal from the program without refund. All players will be required to sign a COVID policy waiver and protocols will be clearly communicated as we receive them.

Although registration fees did not increase this year, we are implementing a $10 non refundable COVID surcharge to allow for implementing the necessary protocols.

EVALUATIONS: Minor, Junior, and Senior levels each have three competitive levels of play: National, American, and Federal.
All competitive level players will participate in Evaluations in order to determine their level. The Evaluations are closed to parents & spectators. Evaluation schedules will be communicated to you as soon as we have fields available to use. A second tryout will be held for the benefit of the coaches who will use the second try out to draft their teams. This tryout may be open to parents & spectators (COVID protocols pending). We are currently targeting mid-March / early-April for this process. Federal level teams will be formed prior to American & National evaluations to allow players who wish to tryout for the Federal team, but are not drafted to the Federal team, to participate in the American/National process.
